Kanuku mountains
The Kanuku Mountains are a group of mountains located in the center of the Rupununi Savannas, in the south western area of Guyana. "Kanuku" means forest and these mountains are nothing short of that. They are considered to be one of the most biologically diverse places in Guyana. The Kanuku Mountains are filled with wildlife and it's home to some of the most exotic and unique animals, such as the harpy eagle, giant anteater, black caiman, arapaima fish, and the giant river otter.
